Dive into the Roaring Twenties in F. Scott Fitzgerald's timeless masterpiece, "The Great Gatsby."

In the flashy world of 1920s New York, Jay Gatsby runs the show of the picture-perfect American Dream. Though he is a mystery, Gatsby throws extravagant parties in hopes of rekindling his love with the married Daisy Buchanan. Nick Carraway, a "normal" and modest Midwesterner, narrates the story as he takes in the lavish parties and witnesses the true nature of this obscure host.

Fitzgerald portrays the true reality of the Jazz Age by exposing the shallow and carefree attitude of wealthy Americans at that time. Jay Gatsby chases an impossible dream while having everything he could ever want at his fingertips. The themes and lessons throughout the book are applicable not only to his time but also to our society today.

FRANCIS SCOTT KEY FITZGERALD, later known as F. Scott Fitzgerald, was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on 24 September 1896. Fitzgerald’s life was just as triumphant, tragic, and dramatic as that of many of his creations full of color, glamor, and romance. The writer’s reputation was always that of a playboy and the couple had a notably extravagant lifestyle.
